Fior di Viola porcelain worktops

Fior di Viola porcelain by SapienStone
Demand for Porcelain worktops and other surfaces is growing at a fast rate. What are the factors behind this growth?:
- Homeowners want worktops that are stain resistant and will stand the test of time in a busy household
- Designers, developers and homeowners want a material that can be recycled and avoid landfill at the end of its life
- Popular marbles such as Calacatta Viola are out of the price range of some projects
- Marble needs ongoing care to retain its good looks long term
In response to the increase in demand, we brought in stock of some porcelain slabs to show existing and prospective clients when they were visiting the workshops and stone studio. Our first delivery was from Sapienstone and in that delivery was their Fior di Viola 4D porcelain, which looks a lot like Calacatta Viola marble and has an incredibly tactile cashmere finish.

We were all intrigued by it and the depth of colour and pattern in all of SapienStone’s 4D slabs. Our phones were all filled with pictures and videos of the slabs that had arrived.
Soon after the slabs had arrived, we were asked by Irving Sykes Kitchens to craft worktops for one of their clients – Emily English, otherwise known on Instagram as Em the nutritionist.
The Irving Sykes team and Emily visited our workshops, saw how we work and viewed the SapienStone 4D slabs that had just arrived at our Stone Studio.
Emily chose the Fior di Viola 4D porcelain slabs as seen above. They are highly durable, stain and scratch resistant, so would work well for Emily keeping in mind how much cooking she does and how much she would use her worktops.

Why choose Porcelain for your worktops?
Porcelain is a great choice for a home bar as it is durable, stain resistant and has a high resistance to scratching too. There is a wide range of pattern types from solid colour to marble-look veined, and the slab patterning is consistent and uniform. Some porcelain slabs are UV resistant too which makes them ideal for sunny rooms and outdoor bars too.

Precision and craftsmanship
Every project we undertake is a blend of precision, the latest technology and traditional craftsmanship. We use a specialist laser templating system to create digital templates, which are then turned into CAD drawings and laid over high-resolution images of your chosen slab. This way you can see how the veining and/or striations will look on your finished worksurface. Once you approve the design layout, we program our high tech Donatoni machinery to cut the surfaces precisely, followed by hand-finishing by our expert stonemasons for that perfect touch.
Collaborations and clientele
We’ve had the pleasure of working with top developers like EAB Homes, Berkeley Homes, and Zafiro Homes, as well as design firms such as Elementi Cucina, KCA, Cottura Design and McEvoy & Rowley. Our dedication to quality and attention to detail make us a trusted partner for design studios, interior designers, and homeowners.
