In September, the Classico team was awarded Contractor of the month by Berkeley Homes at their Huntley Wharf, Kenavon Drive site in Reading. We have fabricated and installed close to 700 plots at this site and the team were delighted to have been recognised for their hard work as the kitchen and bathroom worktop contractor.
Berkeley Homes’ contractor of the month is rated using a number of topics, topics that Berkeley routinely remind all contractors on their sites about to keep them front of mind:
Risk Assessment Method Statements: When working on multiple installation sites such as Huntley Wharf, our risk assessments are reviewed and resent every three months.
Weekly Reviews: A Friday pack is generated every week which has site observations, toolbox talks, and quality management evidence (QMP), good order, good work which details the team are following the RAMS correctly – in other words we do what we say we will.
PPE and housekeeping: The team are always in the correct PPE for the job they are undertaking and maintain a tidy and clean workspace.
Audits: Every six months we instruct an independent H&S site inspector to carry out an audit on us and how we are performing on site.
All of these are then collated and scored. In May, we were pleased to come second at this site and we are thrilled that in September, we won the contractor of the month award. No mean feat when you consider how many contractors there are on site at such a large development as this.
We have around 15 homes left to fabricate and install worktops for at Huntley Wharf as all the plots have been sold so we will not be on this site for much longer. The team celebrated their win with a breakfast wrap and a hot drink at Reading’s The Shed, all paid for by Berkeley Homes. They have enjoyed being the kitchen and bathroom worktop contractor on yet another Berkeley Homes site in our region.
